Global Burden of Disease Study 2010: Key Findings and Implications for Vision Research 

The Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study 2010 (GBD 2010) is a systematic, scientific effort to quantify the comparative magnitude of health loss due to diseases, injuries and risk factors by age, sex and geography for specific points in time. Drawing on the efforts of a multitude of people, including almost 500 co-authors around the world, the study represents the largest review of epidemiological data sources relevant to burden of disease.
