Pack ‘n go

Friday evening – my suitcase is packed and as usual I’m trying to think of which items I’m still missing. Most importantly: I packed my poster (actually, a co-worker and I share a canister and he’s expected to bring both posters to ARVO – that’s a tip for next year!) and put my passport in my pocket. I guess I’ll have to rely on my credit card (no, I won’t forget that!) to take care of everything else that I might forget.

I plan on spending my time on the plane browsing through the program and the abstracts (those pesky PDFs I ranted about in my previous post), reading some of the journals that have piled up over the last few months, revising two manuscripts, working on two grant proposals and doing some Matlab coding that I promised to do before ARVO. There’s actually another tip hidden in there: Do not try to clear a backlog while at ARVO – you did not fly across the continent or across the world to work on your laptop in your hotel room. Anyway, so much for sleeping on the plane, and I guess I’ll have to skip most of the movies…

Back to worrying about my packing – did I already put the poster handouts in my bag and where are my sunglasses?
