One of the great things about ARVO members is their sense of collegiality. Here is a list of things to do so that you can meet one of the superstars in your field at the annual meeting.
1. Make of list of people you REALLY want to meet.
2. Send them an e-mail and ask for a few minutes of their time to sit down and discuss what’s on your mind. It could be a discussion of their research. Are there possibilities for a position in their lab? Career advice? Be brief. It is best to suggest a few days/times to minimize the back and forth about scheduling. 3. Check the program and plan to attend their presentation/poster so you can catch them before/after the session.
The meeting is a great chance to network; good luck!
