Researchers recognize the importance of mentorship to students and early career researchers; however, organizations may struggle to create structured mentoring programs that yield tangible benefits for all participants. Many professionals ascend to mentorship roles without formal training or clear guidelines on mentoring effectively. During this session, we aim to educate the ARVO members about the responsibilities of mentors and mentees and how to build this relationship successfully. The workshop will offer structured training sessions on the essential skills and best practices for both mentors and mentees. Topics will include communication skills, goal setting, feedback mechanisms, and relationship management.
Hosted by ARVO's Members-in-Training Committee (MIT). A certificate of attendance will be available to attendees upon completion.
