Gayle Claman joined ARVO in January 2013 as Senior Director of Scientific Education. Major functional areas within the scientific education department include professional development activity coordination, online education and journals. Gayle is staff lead for the strategy, direction and management of ARVO’s education content and delivery for all platforms, including publications. She holds bachelors and masters degrees in health science and health promotion and masters certificates in instructional design and e-learning. She is also a Certified Association Executive (CAE). Most recently prior to joining ARVO, Gayle served as the Senior Director of Research and Education with the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD).
