I am a highly knowledgeable physical scientist with considerable experience in managing science journals, having worked first as an editor of the largest condensed matter physics journal, Physical Review B, and then as managing editor of two prominent American Chemical Society journals. This experience at two rather different society publishers has taught me how to move new projects forward, both in a leadership role and as a member of a team, at the same time as managing day-to-day operations. I also feel fortunate to benefit from my research experience in the publishing role, allowing me, for example, to judge the significance of a reported development, and the interest it is likely to hold for a broad scientific readership.
