Annette is passionate about reducing avoidable vision loss from ocular trauma. She combines in-depth understanding of the incidence and epidemiology of ocular trauma with knowledge of eye protection design to help develop effective eye injury prevention strategies. Annette is widely published internationally in ocular trauma and the development of eye injury prevention strategies and is currently undertaking her PhD in Ocular Trauma, for which she holds a NHMRC Dora Lush Biomedical Research Postgraduate Scholarship. She is a Research Fellow at the Save Sight Institute, University of Sydney and the Lions Eye Institute, University of Western Australia in Perth. Annette is the Director of Global Standardisation for Essilor and represents Australia in (ISO) International Standardization Organization committees relating to eye protection, sunglasses and spectacles.
